Cannes Film Festival

In February you have the Oscars, then the Met Gala, and this week it is the Cannes Film Festival. I will never be invited to the film festival, but The South of France is definitely on my bucket list.

The Cannes Film festival is an annual film festival that previews new films. It is the most prestigious and publicized film festival of them all. Cannes lasts 11 days and is invitation only. The film festival is held at the Palais des Festivals et des Congres, and typically in May.
The most prestigious award given is Palme d Or (Golden Palm) for best film. Seven other awards are given including Best Actor, Best Actress, and Grand Prize of the Festival.
